So lately, I’ve been loving these sandwiches… It’s naan bread from Trader Joe’s, which I split down the middle. On one side I put pastrami and turkey and sprinkle it with a little Italian seasoning. On the other half I put some cheese and sprinkle a little more seasoning and put them in the toaster oven for a few minutes. When it comes out, I just add, tomatoes, lettuce and avocado. Delish!

It was a perfect day for a wedding on the harbor in San Diego. Matt’s little cousin, Heather was all grown-up in her wedding dress. She looked lovely and her husband-to-be, Danny, was dapper. We boarded the hornblower at noon for a ceremony at sea followed by dinner as we cruised the beautiful downtown scenery. It was a small affair with family and close friends. I was blessed to be a part of their special day.

That’s what we call baths… a Splash Bath. The boys love taking splashies because well, they like to splash! Toys have overtaken every tub in the house as well as my shower. I can’t remember the last time I showered without a bunch of toys. Anyway, I thought this was a cute shot of Liam. One he shouldn’t be embarrassed of when he grows up because no privates are showing.

I decided to take up gardening. I want to be able to grow some of my own fruits and vegetables that I buy frequently at farmer’s markets and I also think the boys would really enjoy it and could learn from the experience. That… and I also saw Martha Stewart’s garden in one of her magazines and it looked amazing.
So I went online and read up on how to start my own garden. We decided to plant tomatoes, zucchinis, eggplant, green and red bell peppers, basil, cilantro, oregano, chives, rosemary, and thyme. Evan and I watched how-to-videos and found a local nursery that had all organic plants and fertilizer like chicken poop they make on-site. We built two raised beds with wood we bought atHome Depot but my garden looks nothing like Martha’s.

TJ just turned one. I first took his family’s photo for Christmas when he was still a baby. He was adorable. And he was not about to sit still!
The first time I met Alexis we were on our way to our annual family ski trip in Big Bear and we were caught in a snow storm in the middle of the night. We needed to get our chains on so we pulled over on the side of the road. The guys were having a hard time and weren’t able to get the chains on, so Lexi stepped in and she got them on like a pro! At the cabin she was so helpful. Hammering things on the wall and fixing stuff and yet she was so Betty Crocker. That night her nickname became McGyver.
My cousin Rob had already fallen for her and it didn’t take long for us to know why. She is sweet, smart, loyal, sensitive, hard-working, fun-loving. I was so happy she would become part of the family. Their wedding was in June but in May we went to San Luis Obispo for her bachelorette party and had the best time!
First Stop (actually, our third):
The next morning

Then we were off for wine tasting
We also went ATVing… (taken with my point and shoot Panasonic Z3)
O.K. Where do we go?

Where did they go?

I have a GREAT BIG FAMILY. and I LOVE it! Here we are BBQing at uncle Fern and aunt Rosalie’s house. And they decided to fly a kite.
Followed by a game.
I’ve always dreamt of living downtown in a loft with an urban garden on my rooftop deck and a bike path for my kids. I had a spot picked out on 9th & G, where I could walk across the street to Cafe Chloe. Up until recently… I’ve changed my mind. For the first time, in my entire life, I want to live in the country! Well not exactly. So here is the story.
There is this piece of land by my house, at least 80 acres, that didn’t get bought up by all the developers in Eastlake. It’s serene, wide-opn, peaceful, green, refreshing, liberating, with views of the mountains and a lake. But the best part is that it is only 5 minutes to Target and 7 minutes to Trader Joes. Yes, it’s perfect, right? So Anika and I have been wanting to take pictures in the abondoned shack on the property but it’s surrounded by barbed wire. So one day, we decided to load up a ladder and the kids.
For the first time, I realized what that scripture in the Psalms meant by, “He makes me lie down in green pastures.”
Doesn’t this look like fun?
We never made it to the shack. We got caught by the personal police and got kicked out. But our idea is to buy the land someday and live on a commune. Build a central entertaining and pool area. Grow an organic vegetable garden and a vineyard. Construct the coolest tree house ever. And still live close to all the conveniences of civilization.
