One of the things we tried to do this summer was go “up to the top”, which is what we and our neighbors call the BBQ and rec area up the hill from our house. I’ve posted more pics on Evan’s Blog but here are some portrait shots of these beautiful girls, Gianna and Rylee.

There were so many pics of Jaz that I loved I thought I would break them up. These are her senior pictures I took before she left. She doesn’t look like the typical home-schooled girl, right? No socialization skills lacking here either.

I did Anica’s maternity shoot a few months back when she was pregnant with Levi. Now he is 3 months old. He is such a cutie and Demi is such a good big sister.

Ahhh! Jaz… She’s gonna be leaving back home to Michigan soon and I don’t know when I’ll see her again. Probably in the spring but it’s such a long time away considering I see her almost every day. It’s been fun having her here with us. We’ve all vied for her time and attention. And I’m gonna miss her SOOOOoooo much!

My cousin Lena is hosting a girls group every Tuesday throughout the summer. Her idea was to have a place for girls to hang out and have something to do. The girls will be keeping journals and sharing their dreams, vision and talents. There will be obstacles along the way, but she hopes to create a tight knit group where the girls can find a place to share and overcome them. The kickoff was a dinner soiree at her house. The following Tuesday was spa night and the next event they will all go out to see a musical.

I love how fat Buster is. He was hanging around the grill the entire time, hoping for some droppings.

This is what he was waiting for.

And this is what I was waiting for. Lena’s creativity surprised me.

I don’t actually have any pictures to post today because my camera batteries were dead and I forgot to charge them. But I had to write about my day because I don’t want to forget it. The problem is, it’s indescribable. I know it’s happiness but how can it all be summed up by one word? There are many words and yet none seem to do it justice.
There was nothing spectacular about today. We weren’t jet-setting the world. We’re not swimming in money. In fact, sometimes we barely have any. But we were simply together. Me, my husband and my boys. And I just can’t get over how much I love them and how happy they make me.
Today, we went to the Del Mar Fair. I remember loving the fair when I was younger (since I’m still young : ). Then it wasn’t so much fun anymore. Ever since fair rides make me sick I really had no reason to go beside eating anything fried you can think of. The deep fried oreo’s are my fav. But now that we have kids, I had a blast!!! I know it’s been said over and over again how when you have kids, you get to relive your childhood. It’s just so true. You try to make their dreams come true. You think about the things you loved as a child and gift those memories and traditions to your kids. And you think about how you can do even more. And as I’m busy trying to make their dreams and imaginations real, they are actually making my dreams come true.
So we made a big deal on our way to the fair and Evan was so excited and once we were there, we just made everything a big deal. Like, “Oh, LOOK, Evan!!! There’s a helicopter! Let’s get on it! You and Me!” And we would. It was just a rinky-dink plastic enclosure that went round and round a 10 foot parameter operated with the push of a button by a sort of shady guy. But to Evan, that helicopter was larger than life and it flew.
I wonder if someday he will recount his day to his children and tell them how we ran to the lemonade stand to get fresh-squeezed lemonade and later shared an ice cream cone as we walked to the petting zoo. How we rode the train, the airplanes and the big o big trucks that were a truck version of the helicopters while daddy and baby brother waved every time we passed. I wonder if he noticed that my knees were up to my chin. Hopefully, he won’t remember how a sheep “Baaad’ so loudly in his face, he cried. Or the rooster who chomped at his fingers through the cage and also made him cry.
Hailey is soo sweet. She just turned two. Unfortunately, the weather was gray and cold considering it’s June in Southern California. Nevertheless, Hailey enjoyed her day at the playground. She loved the swings and she certainly enjoyed her birthday cupcake along with her little guests.

Daddy’s Little Girl

He kinda looks the same to me though as a few months ago. Well, actually, he does have more hair. He had been getting on all fours and rocking, then scooching around but he finally started crawling two days ago on June 17. By today, he had already pulled himself up on the coffee table. I need to get a picture of that but for now here are some pics i took after he woke up from his nap.

Then big brother joined the scene.

No one can believe she did it. Well, I can. I mean, how hard is it, really? But no one can deny that it was a challenge for Moriah to graduate from High School because she could not sit still long enough to finish any assignment. Every school day was war. And she actually graduated early. But that was driven by her motivation to not have to endure one more year of it. So here she is. Btw, it will be remembered as the longest graduation ceremony, EVER!
